Sport
Two recent sporting scholarships (to Millfield and Rendcomb) are testament to Ferndale's ability to provide a good sporting experience for its pupils. Excellent use is made of local facilities and specialist coaches for teaching football, rugby, cricket, rounders, athletics and swimming. Netball and hockey are taught on the school site.
From September 2006 the school will provide 2 afternoons of games a week for children in the Upper School, doubling its previous provision. By extending the school day this has been achieved without the loss of important academic lessons.
For older children there are school teams and regular fixtures against local schools; there are also additional extra-curricular activities and clubs for all the main sports.
